USAC WESTERN SPRINT TITLE FIGHT HEADS TO ROSEVILLE
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (August 18, 2010) – The USAC Amsoil Western Sprint Car Series will be making its final Norcal stop in its 2010 campaign as the series visits All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif on Saturday night.
Saturday’s event will be a crucial round in the championship for contenders Tony Hunt, the five-time champion out of Lincoln, Calif., and Luis Ramos III, the rookie out of Clovis, Calif.
Hunt comes into Roseville looking for win #30 in his illustrious USAC Western Sprint Car career and leads Ramos by 49 points heading into Roseville. Hunt won the season opening event at Roseville back in April, while Ramos claimed his first series win in May at the one-third mile asphalt oval.
Ramos is looking to give Kaplan-Genoso Racing its second championship after Chico’s Ryan Kaplan won a hotly contested battle for the crown in 2007.
Several drivers will be looking to knock off the top-two, including Indy 500 veteran Davey Hamilton. Hamilton will be in action driving the #50 car as a teammate to Hunt in the Metal Works stable. Hamilton competes in the Indy 500 annually and will be in town for the Indycar activities in nearby Sonoma, Calif., where he is an analyst for IMS Radio.
Others expected to be in action include the remaining top-five in the points; Rohnert Park’s JoJo Helberg, Scott Pierovich in the Ken Pierson #14 car, and Shauna Hogg in the #5 car out of Fair Oaks, Calif.
Jerry Kobza of Folsom will be competing in his immaculate new car that is the second machine in the series to run the $14,000 Schwake Spec Engine option.
Gordon Rogers, Gary Koster, Jimmy Riddell, Allen Harney, and Marvin Mitchell are also expected to be at Roseville.
The USAC Amsoil Western Sprint Car Series will be sharing the card with the carbureted NCMA 360 Sprint Cars and the USAC Ford Focus Midget Series. A large turnout of USAC Ford Focus cars is likely, after a 14 car field for their event last week at Orange Show.
Racing action gets underway around 6 p.m. on Saturday at All American Speedway. The track is located at the Placer County Fairgrounds in Roseville, Calif. Adult tickets are just $15 and more information can be found at www.allamericanspeedway.com

RUNNER-UP FINISH EXTENDS WHITE’S USAC CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD
The sophomore member of the Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle program is one of the youngest drivers in either the Young Guns or the USAC Ford Focus Midget divisions.
Competing in the Northcoast Lighting & Electric, Inc. Midget, White qualified second quick with a 13.610 lap around the quarter-mile asphalt oval.
White followed that up with a third place effort around the low-banked speedway in Southern California in the Trophy Dash.
In the 20 lap main event, White ran the fastest laps of the race while running right on the bumper of his RSWC teammate Austin Farley. The caution-free event went just four minutes with White coming home second by a scant .382 seconds.
White trails Farley by one point in the SoCal Young Guns Midget division, but he continues to lead both the USAC Western Pavement and NorCal Midget divisions by significant margins.
White also competed in the full USAC Ford Focus Midget Series race at Orange Show, as one of the only 13 year olds in series history to do so. A 13.391 second qualifying lap put White 11th on the board out of 14 cars.
In the 40 lap feature, White methodically worked his way forward. He moved into the eighth position by lap 13.
White maintained a solid pace on the lead lap through a green flag run that lasted to the finish of the race. White fell to ninth on the final lap of the main event in a very solid outing aboard the full Focus car in just his second race in that series.
“Brandon’s performances have positioned him perfectly for the USAC Young Gun Midget championship,” Team Manager Randy Chastain said. “Brandon has done a fine job staying focused on the Young Guns series while also showing rapid development in the Ford Focus car.”
Brandon White Racing returns to action this weekend at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif with NorCal division points up for grabs.

SCHROCK CONTINUES TO LEAD USAC SOCAL FOCUSES AS A ROOKIE
The rookie member of the Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle program has accumulated an average finish of third over his first seven career asphalt races, including a pair of wins and three third place finishes.
Schrock opened up the evening in his Woodwork Manufacturing and Supply Midget by qualifying third quick. Schrock recorded a time of 12.955 seconds around the quarter-mile asphalt oval.
After finishing third in the trophy dash, Schrock turned his attention to the feature. Starting third out of 13 cars for the 40 lap distance, Schrock was shuffled to fourth on the opening lap.
In the middle of the close and competitive pack of cars, Schrock moved back into third on lap three. The close racing continued with Schrock taking over second on lap 11 before falling back to third on lap 17.
Schrock maintained a strong and consistent third place effort all the way to the finish, turning his best lap of the race on lap 30 of the contest.
The third place finish gives Schrock an eight point advantage over teammate Bobby Runyan, Jr. in the SoCal championship series points. The series returns to action on September 11 at Stockton 99 Speedway.
“Eli came out of the gate swinging by winning his first race and has been fast all season long as a rookie,” head of driver development Ron Sutton said. “The championship battle is going to be fun to watch and Eli has an excellent opportunity to win it!”

AUSTIN FARLEY CONTINUES SOCAL YOUNG GUNS CHAMPIONSHIP RUN
Farley’s Orange Show win marked his second straight victory in the Young Guns at that venue, with the Micro Sprint veteran claiming the win on June 12th as well.
The Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle driver piloted his #42 USAC Young Gun entry to a 13.442 second lap around the quarter-mile speedway in time trials. Farley’s time was easily good enough for the pole by nearly two-tenths on the field.
Farley had a difficult time navigating the field in the trophy dash and settled for a fourth place finish.
In the 20 lap feature, Farley jumped off of the line in a hurry to lead lap one. The fast-paced, caution-free affair saw lap times dip into the 13.3s as the Young Gun Midgets competed at blistering speeds even faster than the Late Model Stock Cars.
Farley confidently led all 20 laps with teammate Brandon White right on his bumper for the entire feature.
With the feature victory, Farley leads White by just one point in the USAC SoCal Young Gun Midget Championship standings.
Not only is Farley in the mix for the SoCal Young Guns championship but also the full USAC Ford Focus SoCal championship. Competing against a field of 14 cars, Farley qualified fourth quick with a 12.963 second lap.
The lap was good enough to qualify Farley into the trophy dash where he finished fourth.
Starting fourth, Farley moved to third in the opening lap of the 40 lap main event. Close back-and-forth jockeying between the top-five cars saw Farley shuffled back to fifth on lap four.
Farley finally moved back into the fourth spot on lap 19, which he maintained all the way to the checkered flag. Despite being a rookie, Farley is currently fourth in the 2010 USAC Ford Focus Midget SoCal championship series with three races left to go. He is also rapidly moving up the overall Western Pavement standings.
“Austin has become a master at qualifying at Orange Show, making both trophy dashes in one night!” Driver Coach Ron Sutton said. “Not only is Austin a good qualifier, he is proving to be a winning racer as well, having won four races this year. We are excited about his racing future in this series and beyond.”
Austin Farley and Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle want to thank sponsors K&N Filters, Scribner Plastics, Allstar Performance, Inventory Sales Company, Sunoco Race Fuels and Star Racing Supply.

SECOND PLACE RUN AT ORANGE SHOW MOVES RUNYAN TO SECOND IN SOCAL STANDINGS
DENAIR, CALIF. (August 18, 2010) – 17 year-old USAC Ford Focus Western Pavement Midget championship hopeful Bobby Runyan, Jr. positioned himself to not only compete for the Western Pavement title but also the regional USAC SoCal title by finishing second at Orange Show Speedway on Saturday night.
Having already won two races this season, the sophomore member of the Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle program was making his 13th start of the busy 2010 campaign aboard the Raging Bull Motorsports / RRC Ford Focus Midget.
After running strong throughout all the practice sessions, Runyan and crew made a change for qualifying that made the race car too tight, leading to only a fifth place qualifying spot.
Starting on the outside front row in the 40 lap feature, it took Runyan just five laps to take over the lead. Runyan accumulated a large lead over the 14 car field before the caution came out on lap 11.
On the restart, Runyan drove away from the field again. USAC Focus Series veteran Michael Lewis, with several wins in 2009, stalked Runyan for most of the race, passing Runyan on lap 29.
Despite losing the lead, Runyan was one of only two cars to run in the 12 second range all race, setting the fast lap of the race at 12.84 on lap 11. Runyan hung tough and kept it close for second position at the finish.
“The car was definitely getting tight, but after speaking with Ron, now I think I could have gotten a little more out of the car and maybe brought home the win,” Runyan said. “But until you are in the situation, you just don't know exactly how to overcome the particular problems you’re presented with. Now I see it, and I'll do better for my team next time!”
Runyan’s finish moved him ahead of Western Pavement rival Cody Gerhardt in the USAC SoCal Ford Focus Midget standings. Runyan is now ranked second in the USAC Western, USAC Western Pavement and USAC SoCal Ford Focus Midget divisions.
“Runs like these are getting us closer and closer to the Western Pavement championship,” driver coach Ron Sutton said. “It’s awesome that Bobby is in the hunt for the championship as a rookie!”
Bobby Runyan, Jr. and the USAC Western Ford Focus Midget series return to action on August 21 at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. The race also pays points for the NorCal division.

JUAN PITTA WINS
Juan Pitta of Galt, CA. dominated the second 44 Lap main event of the night to claim his first victory of 2010 in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series.
After spending a little over a month putting together a new Western Late Model in June, Pitta came back in style, running in the top 5 with his new car. Coming into Saturday’s events at the 1/3 mile All American Speedway in Roseville, CA was no different. Juan was the third fastest on the charts in the first practice with a lap of 14.285.
The team quickly turned the car around for qualifying trim where Juan ran a lap of 14.160 putting him 5th, with a 4 car invert Juan would start 5th in the first main event of the night. With no cautions, Juan moved up a spot for a fourth place finish.
“ We had a fast car for the first race. With no cautions I just wanted to save my stuff for the second race”
Once the checkered flag flew for the first main event, the team immediately went to work making changes to make the car better for the second race. With an invert of six, Juan started third. When the green flag flew, Juan wasted no time getting to the front, taking the lead on lap four. He pulled away from the field claiming his first victory of the season, leading 40 laps winning with a margin of 0.090 over second place.
“ This was a huge win for us”, “Me and my guys worked hard to put this car together and to come out with a victory in only the 4th weekend says a lot about how hungry we are for this win!”
“Were going to keep this momentum going and maybe it can open some doors into the west series. I know with hard work and dedication anything is possible.”
Juan Pitta Racing would like to thank its Sponsors: CASCAR Machine Shop, Optimum Leadership Performance, Finishline Racing, P.R.S .
Juan also wants to give credit to Paul Harraka Sr. at Harraka Racing supply for the weekly calls and text messages on setup. Also his mom and dad for their support. Andy, Tim, Cody, less hand, Rich, the Baileys, JF, Randy Hedrick for selling the car and everyone for the support!

TWIN 44 WIN FOR SCOTT EXTENDS POINTS LEAD IN TITLE HUNT
PINE GROVE, CALIFORNIA (August 17, 2010) – 18 year-old Matt Scott of Pine Grove, Calif. drove to his ninth career Late Model victory in the first of the twin 44 lap features on Saturday night in NASCAR-sanctioned competition at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif.
Scott increased his points lead to 83 points over Bobby Grewohl and 93 points over Jonathan Mawhinney.
The feature win marked Scott’s seventh straight podium finish and his 42nd career top-ten, increasing his career top-ten percentage to 88%.
He opened up the evening by timing in second fast on the one-third mile asphalt oval outside of Sacramento, turning a lap of 13.949 seconds.
In the first 44 lap feature of the night, Scott raced forward from third on the starting grid. After making his way into second, Scott began to reel in Grewohl.
While the race continued on caution-free, Scott and Grewohl came into some lapped traffic. With Scott’s car coming to his liking during the long green flag run, Grewohl started to show a loose condition.
On lap 38, Grewohl got loose coming out of turn two and Scott surged to the inside. Scott won the drag race into turn three to complete the pass and led the final six laps to a 2.1 second win.
In the second 44 lap feature of the night, Scott started sixth. Scott found navigating traffic in the second race a little more difficult. This 44 lap contest also went caution-free. Scott moved into third by lap 18 and maintained the third position all the way to the finish.
Matt Scott Racing will return to action on August 28 as Matt Scott continues to chase points for the All American Speedway track championship and the NASCAR California State title.
Scott is shown fourth in the state points and 80th in the national standings as he begins to drop his worst races for a best of 18 program.
Late 2010 and early 2011 plans are being formulated now for the talented Amador High School graduate. Sponsorship and media inquiries can be forwarded to Steven Blakesley at steven@norcalmedia.com

Kids Night brought the Kids out in force while Johnny Brazil Night brought the racers out in force and Doff Cooksey was a force to be reckoned with
On Saturday, August 14th, NASCAR Whelen All American Racing Series returned on Kids Night with the Western Late Models, Grand American Modifieds, Vintage Winged Modifieds, which featured Johnny Brazil, Bombers, Basically-4-Cylinders, Legends of the Pacific and Mini Cups. Plus Big Wheel races for the Kids. All this action was Presented by Ghirardelli and Stockton Food for Less.
This would be the night that Brentwood’s Doff Cooksey (75) would measure up to the field and bring his Western Late Model home to Victory Lane and a small bit of recompense. On May 15th this year, Cooksey’s car was destroyed in a collision coming out of turn four, and after much time and effort, tonight he was back in a beautiful new car.
With the Late Models lined-up on the grid, and over 1500 in attendance, anticipation filled the thick air like the silence of the wind just before the chute opens. And the fans in the stands didn’t have to wait long for the excitement to build as Modesto’s Mike Beeler (6) and Cooksey paced the field to greet the green. Cooksey was quick on the gun as he grabbed the holeshot going down into turn one at which time his statement was heard loud and clear. It certainly didn’t take much imagination for the collective to realize this race would be for second place. From that point forward, Cooksey pulled away to over a straightaway lead as he flew below the checkers in a lop-sided victory. “This is great to win at Stockton,” said the excited young driver, “The last win for me came two years ago at Altamont. So this is fantastic.” The battle for second was heated at times, but in the end it would be Todd Corral (16) of Modesto, in his first appearance of the year, holding off Points Leader Chad Holman (9) of Stockton, who had to settle for what was most likely a disappointing third. Beeler slipped back, if only a bit, to finish fourth. Ripon’s rookie, Michael Sandoval (17), brought her home in the number five spot. By virtue of their finishes on this night, Holman extended his lead over Sandoval to 49 with five races left in three nights.
The Grand American Modifieds, after what seemed a long week off, were back in action on the lightning-fast asphalt surface with Modified Sensation, Wes Miller (57) of Turlock, on rails this night all the way through to the checkers.
This one got underway with Oakdale’s Ryan Stepps (98), in only his fourth career race, nabbing the pole and Manteca’s David Crouch (2) locked to his right door handle. Crouch jumped out early and appeared strong until lap 9 when Miller slipped underneath him and took control of the number one slot where he would ride it out to the checkered flag waving above him as he crossed below the flagstand in incomparable fashion for his first win of the year at Stockton. “I love racing on this track,” said the well-spoken Miller, “I’ve always had fun at Stockton, and this was fun tonight.“ Crouch, after doing everything he could to maintain a respectable distance to the leader, had to finally settle for second. Stepps finished third, but this young driver appears to improve with each week, which is no small accomplishment in these cars.
If you love nostalgia, then the Vintage Winged Modifieds had to send shivers up your spine. What a wonderful sight to see these hotrods, after many years, tackling the high-banks once again. Art Gustafson, in his 1969, 327 Red Chevy, would reign supreme on this evening, but not without some great entertainment along the way. The crowd was on their collective feet for the entire race as these guys went back and forth out front and all the way through the pack. By the end of the night, most agreed it would be great to see these cars on more than one occasion during the year.
As usual, the Bombers were in great form with Stockton’s Tom Dahl (004) ascending to the top rung of the podium when this one was finished.
Stockton driver Fast Freddy Rathjen (290) started P1 with Points Leader Travis Tucker (350), also of Stockton, flanking him to the right. At the drop of the green, Rathjen wasted no time with decisions as he grabbed the lead to prove his strength early on until lap 6 when Fast Freddy’s daughter, Jessica Rathjen (920), washed up the track between turns one and two coming to rest against the outside wall and bringing with her the first caution on the evening. On the lap 6 restart, Rathjen Sr. and Tucker made contact racing to the green which brought out an immediate second yellow and sent Rathjen to the pits for the night. Lodi’s Robbie Knittel (003) and Dahl inherited the front row on the restart and it took Knittel no time to establish himself out front where he would remain for the duration as he crossed the stripe in front of the pack in what appeared to be his fourth win of the year. Unfortunate for the young Knittel, post-race tech would be his undoing when officials discovered the ride-height on the #003 Chevrolet was too low, which handed the victory to Dahl in what would be his fourth win of the season. “I’ve been on both sides of that coin,” said the soft-spoken Dahl, “So we’ll definitely take the win, especially since we were down a cylinder.” Andy Rumsey (043) of Stockton had another great run with a back-to-back second place finish while Jeremy Tucker (051) brought her home on the podium in third. Chevy Hackett came up with another solid race finishing fourth with Fast Freddy Rathjen Jr. rounding out the top five. Points Leader Tucker made it back out on the track on lap 18, twelve laps down, but because of Knittels post-race woes, Tucker was able to extend his points lead to 40.
A great lineup was on hand for the Basically-4-Cylinders with Points Leader JD Silva (56) of Modesto coming into the night with a slim eight point lead over Larry Toon Jr. Silva has yet to win a Main Event this year, but consistency rules, and tonight that would not change as Toon crossed the stripe ahead of the pack.
This one got up and running with the #6 of Joseph Reichmuth on point and Stockton’s Kelli Bobbitt (61) close at his side. However, coming around to greet the first lap it would be the #101 of Stockton’s Andrew Rumsey, racing double-duty on this night, grabbing the top spot to call his own. Unfortunately, on lap 3, mechanical problems once again collided with Rumsey, ending his night. In the meantime, Toon jumped out to the point where, once there, he wrote his own ticket all the way to the bank as he crossed the finish line, completely unchallenged, for his fourth victory of the year and, by doing so, he completed the rare clean-sweep on the night by winning every race he entered within the division. Modesto’s Richard Hull, starting deep on the grid, brought his #23 hotrod through the field to finish a very impressive second. Stockton’s Kelli Bobbitt (61) notched his sixth top five of the year by finishing on the podium in third with Points Leader Silva coming home in a close fourth, which was good enough to retain his points lead, but only by a tiny two. After a great battle with Silva, Reichmuth had to settle for fifth.
What else does one need to say but Legends of the Pacific, and instantly you know you’re in store for some great racing. Although Johnny Morrissey (20M) of Pleasanton would own the checkered flag on this night, it was a stunning visual to watch him get there.
Like clockwork, Keith Clement (8) of Stockton and Dave Scaronni (25S) of Sparks, NV led the field to the stripe from row one with Clement jumping quickly to the front until lap 10 when Morrissey began his move on Clement which ended on lap 11 when Clement had no choice but to succumb to the pressure applied to his back bumper by Morrissey. Of course, Morrissey didn’t come alone: he brought with him Donny Darter (99) of Manteca, Stanislov Osterlund (42) of Los Gatos and Tracy’s driving great, Jeremy Wood (22). And on lap 20, the race was on as these four cars continued to jockey for position in what was ultimately one of the finest battles witnessed this year. Although this night would go into the books as a Morrissey night, the other three drivers would hold their heads high as they crossed beneath the checkers with a mere seven one-hundredths separating them from the leader. After the smoke settle, it would be Wood finishing second with Osterlund third and Darter fourth. Clement fell off the torrid pace just a bit, but still came home with a fifth place finish. This was one of those races you wish you had on video, so you could watch it over and over again. Great Race!
The Mini Cups were back in action starring Manteca’s Landon Reynolds (57) and Stockton’s Cody Johnston (50). Although Johnston started on pole and led the first lap, Reynolds grabbed the lead going down the back-stretch and never looked back as he crossed beneath the checkers a half-lap ahead of Johnston for his first-ever win at the Speedway in his fledgling career. In Johnston’s defense, he had trouble coming off turn two on lap 6, which at first appeared to be a left rear tire going down, but after further review, the consensus was he drove too deep into the rumble strips. No matter the cause, he was never able to recover from the mishap. However, because of his second place finish, Johnston tallied enough points on the night to send him to the top of the charts for the year.
Next Saturday, August 21st, the NASCAR Whelen All American Racing Series returns for the Race For Autism with the Western Late Models, Bombers, Mini Trucks/Mini Stocks, Vintage Hard Tops and the Mini Cups. This Event will be huge for the Western Late Models with $300 to start and $3000 to win. Some big names in the sport will be on hand, which should produce some absolutely great racing. This is one night everyone should have marked on their calendars. Stay tuned for more information yet to come.

Pitta Scores a Big One!
Roseville, CA - (August 15, 2010) - Late Model driver Juan Pitta was beside himself in Victory Circle last night at All American Speedway after winning the second Twin 44 race in just the fourth time out in his new car.
"It feels awesome," Pitta said. "My crew gave me a hell of a car. We've been working on it around the clock. This was my fourth race in the car and all the hard work is paying off. With a lot of perseverance and determination we got the results we wanted.”
"We just kind of motored in the first race and finished fourth. I knew we had a good car and we strategized to go get the win in the second race. To beat all these fast cars and big teams, as the underdog it feels awesome."
In the first Late Model Twin 44 race Chris Scribner had fast qualifying time with a 13.878 lap at 77.821 mph. With an invert of four, Shannon Mansch started from the pole with Bobby Grewohl on the outside of row one followed by Matt Scott and Scribner.
Grewohl got the lead on lap one, and then Mansch took it back on lap two. Mansch held the lead until lap 14 when Grewohl raced to first. Scott got the number one position on lap 39 and held on to take the checkered flag, followed by Grewohl, Scribner, Pitta and Mansch.
"The first race was good," Scott said. "The car actually wasn't too great, but we muscled through and ended up with the win. The second race the car was too tight. I just went for whatever I could get out of that race.” Scott leads in Late Model point standings, and Grewohl is in second, 83 points behind Scott.
They say it's bad luck to change the paint scheme on your racecar during the middle of a season, but Street Stock driver Chris Lambert is proving it doesn't have to be that way. Lambert got his second consecutive win in the Street Stock division Saturday night. He was glad for the win, but disappointed when Mickey Owens got a flat tire early on in the race.
"The race was great," Lambert said, "but I think I'm bad luck for Mickey. The last two races he has gotten a flat tire while we've been racing each other.. But, like he said, that's racing and stuff happens."
Lambert started from the pole, but Richard Poppert, Jr. took the lead on lap one. On lap six, Owens took the lead. On lap 13, Lambert took over second. On a restart on lap 20, Owens spun his tires and Lambert got the lead. Owens quickly dropped back to 10th after suffering a flat tire.
"Overall it was a great race,” Lambert said. “Nobody got hurt and everyone put their cars on their trailers. Everything was good."
In Bomber racing, Mark Anderson qualified number one. With an invert of four, Jim McGinnis started from the pole followed by Cody Rickard. McGinnis took the lead at the green flag and the fans witnessed some thrilling side-by-side racing between McGinnis and Rickard for a good part of the race. In the end, McGinnis crossed the finish line first, followed by Rickard, Harry Lambert and Erick Ray. McGinnis leads in Bomber point standings, with David Thompson 17 points back.
Jarret Kelly got his first win at All American Speedway in the Baby Grands feature race. Chili Denison started from the pole, followed by Patrick Hill, David Napier, Kelly and Robbie Roy. Denison led the first two laps, and then Roy took over the lead for two laps. Roy drove in to the infield with car trouble on lap four, and Kelly got the lead. He held on until the checkered flag flew on lap 20. Denison finished second.
"It's really cool to win tonight," Kelly said. "I've never won at AAS before.” Kelly leads in Baby Grand points and with just three races remaining on the schedule, he will be back at AAS for two of those races. "Maybe we can win here again," Kelly said after the race.
Danny Allen qualified number one in Mini-Cup, posting a 16.702 lap at 64.663 mph. Before the main event got the green flag, Allen and the No. 33 car driven by Adrian Wilson got together on the backstretch. Allen exited the track with a broken chain, but was able to get back out before the green flag. Wilson was not so lucky. He drove to the infield with a broken car on lap one.
At the green flag, Allen took the lead and never looked back. He had a huge lead on the rest of the field for the entire race. It's easy to see why he is the point’s leader in the Mini-Cup division. He is a focused and smart racecar driver. Allen has wrapped up the Mini-Cup championship for 2010. Allen will take a year off before he begins racing a Legends car in 2012.

Kids Night will be joined by Johnny Brazil and the Vintage Winged Modifieds, Presented by Ghirardelli and Stockton Food 4 Less
This Saturday, August 14th, NASCAR Whelen All American Racing Series returns on Kids Night with the Western Late Models, Grand American Modifieds, Vintage Winged Modifieds featuring Johnny Brazil, Bombers, Basically-4-Cylinders, Legends of the Pacific, Bandoleros, Mini Cups and Figure 8 Racing. Plus Big Wheel races for the Kids. All this action will be Presented by Ghirardelli and Stockton Food for Less.
Johnny Brazil is a name synonymous with short-track racing, and especially so when it comes to Stockton 99 Speedway. Although he holds many records, the most impressive came on June 1st, 1985 when Brazil, in a Super Modified, fired off a blazing time of 11.899. It goes without saying, that record still holds strong to this day. In 1960, Brazil won his first Championship at the Speedway, and, it wasn’t until 1969 before his second would come, but he ran off three in a row from 69-71. Over the years he compiled 93 Fast Times, 125 Heat Wins, 84 Dash Wins, 99 Main Wins, 314 Overall Wins and 699 Total Top Finishes. Impressive would be a huge understatement and wouldn’t go over well with many in the racing community today. Brazil has been such a large part of Stockton’s History, the Speedway has decided to give back to him in the form of honoring him this Saturday on Johnny Brazil Night at the Races. Brazil will be present as will be the car he drove to so much glory. At least twelve Vintage Winged Modifieds will be on hand to put on a show for the fans in the stands to relish and reminisce. This group is led by Art Gustafson and all the cars are from stars past. Revamped, and ready to rumble.
Pit Gates open and registration begins at noon with practice commencing at 2:00 PM. The Grandstands open at 4:00 PM with qualifying set for 4:00 PM and green flag racing slated for 6:00 PM. Ticket prices for the evening will be as follows:

Chris "The Magician" Lancaster Wins 200-lap Enduro
Roseville, CA - (August 8, 2010) - Chris Lancaster and Ron Wills electrified the crowd at All American Speedway Saturday night with back and forth lead changes and side-by-side racing in the 200-lap Enduro race. With the track watered and soaped, No. 02 Joe Addison led the field at the green. On lap five, No. 95 Larry Moniz took the number one position for a lap, and then Wills took over with Lancaster running in second.
Wills continued to lead with Lancaster right behind him. Lancaster took the lead for one lap on lap 12, and then relinquished it back to Wills on lap 13. On lap 26, Lancaster again got the lead and held on to it until lap 62 when Wills passed him. Lancaster and Addison had a terrific fight for second going on behind the leader, with Addison getting second position on lap 77. Wills was leading at end of the first 100 laps. "I took the shortest line and passed him (Lancaster)," Wills said. "I wasn't going to let him get it back."
For the second 100-lap race, the track was watered and soaped again and the field drove the opposite way on the track. Wills started from the number one position followed by Lancaster, Addison, No. 2 David Pabst, and Moniz.
Wills got out in front at the green flag before Lancaster relieved him of that position on lap 136. Addison exited the track on lap 120 with car problems. Lancaster led until lap 174 when Wills took the lead. The fans were thrilled and on their feet watching Wills and Lancaster battle each other for the lead. On lap 182, Lancaster got the lead back, then on lap 199 Wills got the lead at the white flag, but Lancaster passed him on the last lap to take the checkered flag.
"That was an amazing race," Lancaster said after winning. "I have to thank my family, my Uncle Scott, my girlfriend Jill."
"I have to tell you. Wills drove his butt off and he ran me clean the whole race. We were back and forth, side-by-side, and the great thing about Enduro racing is the traffic. You have to maneuver through traffic and we just went back and forth with the lead through the traffic."
Wills followed Lancaster over the finish line and said, "I doesn't get any better than this. I raced as hard as I could. I took the lead on lap 199 and gave up the position on the inside going in to the last corner. He did what he had to do. I gave him a few taps along the way too, but we raced clean. I don't mind a little bumping here and there, that's just racing."
Unfortunately, in post race inspection, No. 18 Ron Wills was disqualified due to a high compression reading.
Next Saturday, August 14, All American Speedway will feature Kids Night at the track. Children 12 and under get in FREE with an adult paid admission. There will be an extra special event for the kids, a newspaper toss to win a new BMX bicycle sponsored by the Roseville Press Tribune. There will be face painting, a WSRA autograph session, $2 kids meal deal, and a kid’s football toss. For more information go to: www.allamericanspeedway.com.

Magnified and Intensified, the Race Chases continue on Strandwold Properties Night at the Speedway
On Saturday, August 7th, the NASCAR Whelen All American Series comes rumbling back to life on Strandwold Properties Night with the Western Late Models, Street Stocks, Bombers,
NCMA Sprint Cars, and the Mini Cups. The Season has turned the corner and is coming down the back-stretch with some very tight Points Races in several Divisions still very much alive. With only five weekends of racing left in the 2010 Season, it’s go time.
In the Western Late Model Division, the Boyd Camper Racing Equity Homes, Inc. #9 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by Manteca’s Chad Holman, still holds the leading edge in the Points Battle with 743 this Season to date. With fifteen races under his belt in his Rookie Year at Stockton, Holman has tallied up some pretty impressive numbers. With a Single Win to his credit, Holman has also notched Eleven Top Fives and Fourteen Top Ten’s, including Two Fast Times, One Heat Win and Four Trophy Dash Wins. At the time of this Press Release, Holman was sitting atop the State Championship Points Chart and Leading the National Rookie of the Year Race. Consistency seems to be his forte, and he will need all he can muster to finish this Season out on top with a mere 42 Points separating him from his nearest competitor who happens to be the young driver of the #17 Sandoval Racing Bavaro Ranches Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Ripon’s Michael Sandoval, yet another Rookie. After starting the Season three-quarter throttle, Sandoval has rallied back mid to late-season by putting together some great finishes. Another driver with fifteen races, he has done well to maintain his position in Second with Two Wins, Six Top Fives, Thirteen Top Ten’s and a single Heat Win. Sandoval also sits high atop the State and National Points Standings. His strength seems to come in the form of improving each week. He still has time, but with Holman’s consistency, he may need a little help to rise to the top by year’s end.
In the Street Stock Division, the Gabtron Motorsports Volvo Rents #79 Chevrolet with Escalon’s Sammy Solari behind the wheel continues to own the Top Spot since day one. With eleven Points Races in the Books so far this year, Solari boasts Seven Wins, Eight Top Five’s and Ten Top Ten’s along with Five Dash Wins, Five Heat Wins and Five Fast Times. Solari’s confidence is overwhelming at times, as well it should be, having the best of both worlds with a Great Driver and a Great Car. Look for him to continue his Fantastic Year as the Season winds down. The #79 Team is a Powerhouse and will have to be reckoned with, especially if anyone is eyeing the Top Prize this year, they’ll have to go through Gabtron Motorsports to get there. Sitting a scant 18 Points in arrears to Solari, Stockton’s own Ben Lewis II, driver of the #22 Lewis Motorsports All American Muffler and Performance Chevrolet Camaro, owns the bragging rights to the leading Rookie this year. After capturing the Bombers Title a year ago, Lewis has pretty much picked-up where he left off in his first eleven Street Stock races with a Single Win, Ten Top Fives and Eleven Top Ten’s as well as Three Dash Wins, One Heat Win and Four Fast Times. Lewis is another one of those consistent drivers which benefits him quite well, and if he can keep his eyes on the prize, there are great possibilities in his future. However, if his future is now, he’ll still have to go through the #79 Team to get there this year, which, by the way, isn’t impossible, but it is a tall order for the first-year driver.
In the Bomber Division, Stockton’s Travis Tucker, driving the #350 Chevy Monte Carlo established himself early on in the Season which brought with it all the accolades bestowed upon the Points Leader. After a horrendous head-on collision a few weeks back, Tucker had accumulated enough points to retain his spot atop the charts, but only by a hair and some air. With a total of Ten Races to date, Tucker has accrued a Single Main Event Win, Five Top Fives, Nine Top Ten’s, One Dash and Two Heat Wins. Hot on his heels in Second, Rookie Robbie Knittel of Lodi, driver of the #3 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, has inched within a tiny 2 Points behind the leader. Knittel has been extremely impressive this year with Three Main Events Wins, Seven Top Five’s and Eight Top Ten’s. He is also credited with Two Heat Wins and Six Fast Times. This Division is going to go down to the wire, and if either or both of these drivers slip just a little, Tom Dahl lurks in the corridor ready to pounce.
In the newest weekly Division, the Mini Cups are led by the #11 of Manteca’s Travis Affonso with 310 Points gathered through Six Races so far this year. Affonso sports some marvelous numbers including two Main Event Wins, Five Top Five’s, Six top Ten’s, Four Dash Wins, Five Heat Wins and Four Fast Times. His strengths seem to lie in two areas: he is very consistent and he seems to have the high-banks at Stockton figured out quite well. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have a fast car, which he does. Sitting in Second Place, a distant 68 Points back, the #48 of Discovery Bay’s Jared Cronk will more than likely need much help to overcome Affonso for the Championship with only four races left on the year. However, Cronk is not to be taken lightly amassing some great numbers of his own in only five races this Season. He has Two Main Event Wins, Three Top Fives and Five Top Ten’s. His strengths seem to match Affonso’s very closely, which has made for some great races this year.
Of course, the NCMA Sprints are a Visiting Division, but nonetheless, they are still worth mentioning here since they are always welcomed guests at Stockton 99 Speedway. Napa’s David Goodwill, in his #3 Sprint, leads the Division with 731 Points. Goodwill always seems to run well at Stockton, and it’s no wonder, this guy can flat-out wheel a race car. Modesto’s seventy-two-year old Ed Amador, driving the #76 Sprint, currently holds a 97 Point deficit to the lead of Goodwill. This Legendary driver derives his strength from his vast knowledge and experience, and is always a pleasure to watch at Stockton.
Pit Gates open and registration begins at noon with practice commencing at 2:00 PM. The Grandstands open at 4:00 PM with qualifying set for 4:30 PM and green flag racing slated for 6:00 PM. Ticket prices for the evening will be as follows:
General Admission (16+) $15
Juniors (11-15) $10
Kids 10 & Under FREE
Seniors (60+) $10
Military (W/ Military ID) $10
Family $40

HUNT AND RAMOS RESUME POINTS BATTLE AS USAC RETURNS TO MADERA
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (August 5, 2010) – USAC Amsoil Western Sprint Car Series action returns to Madera Speedway for the first time in 2010, as Tony Hunt leads the points standings in his #56 Metal Works entry over the exciting rookie Luis Ramos III.
A solid field of USAC Western Sprint drivers is expected to be in action on Saturday’s “Super Saturday” which will also include racing from the SMRA Super Modifieds on the card. The Kenny Shepherd-promoted one-third mile asphalt oval is located just north of Fresno, Calif.
In four series events at Madera in 2009, series champion Tanner Swanson of nearby Kingsburg claimed two victories. Tanner’s brother, and former champion, Kody Swanson had a win along with Rohnert Park’s JoJo Helberg.
Kody will not compete with the Western Sprints but instead compete in the SMRA Super Modified race.
Tanner Swanson will join the field at Madera Speedway, piloting the #15 Harvest Supply mount that scored a win at Stockton with Kody behind the wheel.
Hunt is looking to rebound from a 14th place effort in Utah. Clovis’ Ramos finished third in Utah to lead the Western contingent, moving him within 45 points of Hunt in the series championship. Ramos is looking for his second feature win of 2010 driving the Kaplan-Genoso Racing #21.
Helberg will be in action driving the black #3F sprinter for Ted Finkenbinder. Other drivers expected to compete are #94 Gordon Rogers, #68 Marvin Mitchell, Modesto’s Jimmy Riddell in the #19 Hornet Sprint Cars entry, and Alamo’s Scott Pierovich in the #14 Ken Pierson-owned mount.

ROMANO AND BROCK GIVE RON SUTTON’S WINNER’S CIRCLE A MODIFIED 1-2
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (August 3, 2010) – Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle Modified team brought home a huge 1-2 finish in Saturday night’s NASCAR-sanctioned races at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif with Nik Romano and Josh Brock leading the pack.
For the 19 year-old Nik Romano of Atherton, Calif., the win marked his second of his 2010 rookie season. Romano is in his third season in the RSWC program after winning the 2008 Formula Ford and 2009 USAC Ford Focus championships.
Corbin, Kentucky’s Josh Brock is a new member of the Ron Sutton program after succeeding in the driver shootout last fall. Brock was the recipient of the K&N Filters scholarship and drives the K&N Filters Modified.
With the guidance of new crew chief Scott Rogers, Romano started off the evening with a sixth place qualifying run at 14.158 seconds around the one-third mile asphalt oval. Romano followed that up with impressive wins in both his heat race and the trophy dash.
Brock timed in third on the board with a 14.065 second effort, missing out on the pole position by just .090 seconds. Brock started fourth in the main event.
Starting on the pole, Romano led the 21 car field to green for the 40 lap feature. Romano got out to an early lead and maintained that advantage while Brock raced into third. With nine to go the caution flag came out setting up a thrilling finish.
Romano got off of the line with a tremendous restart while Brock battled hard for second place. Brock broke free for second on lap 34 and tried to reel in Romano.
Romano managed to maintain a nearly one second advantage over Brock as they ripped past the checkered flag for the satisfying 1-2 run, with teammates Trevor Cristiani and Aaron Higgins finishing sixth and 11th respectably as well.
With the win, Romano moves into fourth in the track points standings with Brock continuing his solid third place season. Brock has had a perfect record of top-ten finishes in his first season running Modifieds on the West Coast.
"This 1-2 finish is one of the highlights in the short history of our NASCAR Modified Team. We have won three of the last five races since ex-Busch crew chief Scott Rodgers came on board," Team Owner Ron Sutton said.
"Nik and Josh are two great young drivers and we are fortunate to have them behind the wheel of our Modifieds. I expect more successes this season with our team!"

SCOTT DOMINATES TOYOTA/TRD 100 IN EMOTIONAL, CAREER-DEFINING NIGHT
Racing against a field with talent from both the SRL SPEARS Southwest Tour and NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, Scott claimed his fifth career fast-time and eighth career Late Model victory.
“This meant the most emotionally as our good friend Art passed away a few weeks ago,” Scott said. “This win was for him.”
Scott qualified on top of the board with a 13.811 second lap around the one-third mile asphalt oval. The lap was just .002 seconds faster than former track champion Eric Schmidt.
After a six car invert, Scott and Schmidt started side-by-side on the third row. Scott methodically worked his way forward, and leapt from third to first on the lap 34 restart.
Schmidt chased down Scott, taking over the lead on lap 40. They ran side-by-side for multiple laps before Scott finally broke through on lap 46.
Scott led all the way through the 63 lap green flag run to take a comfortable and dominating 2.8 second victory. He lapped up to ninth place including previous race winner and SRL champion Jason Fensler.
“That was incredible,” Scott said. “Schmidt is one of the best shoes out here by far. I think we rubbed wheels once or twice but that was it.”
With the victory, Scott has accumulated 24 top-fives and 40 top-tens in 46 career Late Model starts. He opened up the weekend on Friday afternoon by taking his first laps in a NASCAR K&N Pro Series West car. In just two short sessions, Scott had the car dialed in within a few tenths of the field.
Scott also made a media interview with a local cable access sports show before climbing into the #35 Chevy for the 100 lap main event.
Scott now leads the NASCAR Late Model points standings at All American Speedway by 66 points with seven races left to go. He is also continuing to run in the top-five in the NASCAR California State points as well.
Late 2010 and early 2011 plans are being formulated now for the talented Amador High School graduate. Sponsorship and media inquiries can be forwarded to Steven Blakesley at steven@norcalmedia.com Matt Scott Racing is looking for sponsorship to continue its championship run.
